Outdoor Clothing Built for the Way America Buys.
American buyers do not purchase jackets — they purchase margin, sell-through and a compliance file that survives their legal team. UniOuter (Zhejiang Hualilai, est. 2005) manufactures hiking, hunting, fishing and commuter outerwear for U.S. brands, retailers and distributors — with the retail price point, the labeling and the landed cost engineered in from the first quote.

Sell Where America Actually Plays Outside.
Six buying regions, six different ways a jacket fails or sells through. Every U.S. programme we build starts from where your customers actually hunt, hike and fish — then works backwards to fabric, construction and price.

Appalachian fall color · Adirondack winters · the Boston–NYC–Philly commuter corridor
Northeast & Mid-Atlantic
Layerable midweights, storm-ready shells and reflective commuter pieces built for shoulder-season swings. Fall retail turns fast here, so repeat orders are scheduled, not begged for.

Year-round humidity · inshore and flats fishing · coastal boating culture
Southeast & Gulf Coast
Lightweight waterproof fishing jackets with corrosion-proof hardware, ventilated backs and tool pockets. Garments here live on boats, so drainage and quick-dry linings are specified, not assumed.

Lake-effect snow · prairie wind · hard-water fishing season
Midwest & Great Lakes
Windproof insulated parkas and quiet brushed-face hunting pieces that hold warmth without bulk. Zip-in liners and storm cuffs are engineered for real lake-effect weather, not catalog photos.

Long hot seasons · whitetail and upland birds · brush-country cover
Texas & Southern Plains
Breathable camo, early-season lightweight layers and blaze-orange options where regulations require them. Fabrics are picked to stay quiet and cool past opening morning.

High-altitude sun · canyon country · forty-degree daily swings
Mountain West & Desert Southwest
UV-shading hoods, abrasion panels for sandstone and granite, and layering systems built for cold mornings and hot afternoons on the same trail.

Nine months of rain · timber and tide · saltwater charters
Pacific Northwest & Alaska
20,000 mm shells with fully taped seams, packable hoods and saltwater-safe hardware. This is the region where a failed seam tape is a returned product, so we test like it.
Three Ways to Hit Your Retail Price.
A U.S. buyer is really buying a margin. Instead of one quote and a shrug, we build your range on a tier ladder — so opening price points, core styles and hero pieces each get exactly the construction they need, and nothing they don’t.
| Build Tier | Fabric & Membrane | DWR | Typical MOQ | Sampling | Fits Retail Band |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| Workhorse | 2-layer PU-laminated poly, mesh lining | C0 PFAS-free | 500 pcs | 12–15 days | Opening price points and promo runs |
| Performance | 2.5 / 3-layer TPU laminate, tricot backing | C0 PFAS-free | 300–500 pcs | 12–15 days | Core specialty and DTC hero styles |
| Technical | 3-layer membrane laminate, textured nylon face | C0 + durability re-test | 300 pcs | 15–18 days | Flagship alpine and guide-level pieces |
Same PO quoted under FOB, CIF and DDP so your team compares real numbers. Classification follows the current Harmonized Tariff Schedule.

A Fabric Library, a Lab, and Opinions.
Membranes in 2-layer, 2.5-layer and 3-layer builds; face fabrics from quiet brushed hunting poly to textured 40D nylon; insulation from lightweight synthetic to high-loft. Every option arrives with a data sheet, not an adjective.
DWR is C0 fluorochemical-free across the range — tested for spray rating and wash durability, documented for the state rules below, and re-tested whenever your buyers ask.
Development runs in our own sample room: protos in 10–15 days, graded size sets, and a sealed sample that bulk is actually measured against.

The Compliance Stack We Build Into Every PO.
Two layers protect a U.S. programme: the federal baseline every garment must meet, and the state PFAS clock that decides where and when your shell can be sold. We build both into the production file — before bulk, not after.
Federal Baseline
FTC Textile Act
Fibre content, country of origin and RN identification on every sewn-in label — built to the FTC Textile & Wool Acts.
Care Labeling
Permanent care instructions matched to the actual fabric and trims, per the Care Labeling Rule (16 CFR 423).
California Prop 65
Materials screened against the current list so your warning calls are documented — see p65warnings.ca.gov.
CPSIA (Children’s)
Lead, phthalates, tracking labels and third-party testing with a Children’s Product Certificate via CPSC-accepted labs.

Customer Case Studies.
Two U.S. customer stories, told the way buyers actually read them: the challenge they walked in with, what UniOuter delivered, and the numbers that came out of it.
Specialty Retail Collective · Denver, CO
Two suppliers, three label formats and a landed cost that moved every season
The customer ran a 12-style fall range across three price tiers, split between two factories. The challenge: inconsistent labelling, unpredictable landed cost, and no single line audit. UniOuter won the programme by consolidating the full range onto one audited line, rebuilding the tier ladder from the fabric up, and quoting duty-inclusive so their merchandising team could set retail with confidence.
“The tier table you built is now how our buying team talks about the whole category.”
DTC Rain Shell Brand · Portland, OR
A two-person brand, one hero shell, and a retail price they could not miss
The customer needed a 20,000 mm rain shell that could survive Pacific Northwest reviews at a strict price point — without a sourcing team behind them. UniOuter matched a 2.5-layer laminate and C0 DWR to their target retail, prototyped in 14 days, then scaled a cautious 380-piece first PO into a four-colour repeat programme with zero seam-tape failures on file.
“You treated a 380-piece first order like it mattered. That is why we are still here.”

Answers, Straight.
Ordering & MOQ
What is your minimum order per style?
300–500 pcs per style and colour depending on fabric and construction. A first trial order can run lower on an existing pattern — the 380-piece first PO in our Portland case study is a real example of how that starts.
How fast can we see a proto?
Protos in 10–15 days after the design is frozen; graded size sets in 3–4 weeks. Two to three fit rounds are normal before a sealed sample.
Can you hold a retail price point, not just a factory price?
Yes — that is the point of the tier table above. We work backwards from your target retail to fabric, membrane and trim choices, and quote duty-inclusive landed cost so merchandising sees the real number.
Do you support repeat programmes, not just one POs?
Yes. Most U.S. programmes run on scheduled reorders. We hold size blocks, fabric lots and label files per programme so a repeat PO does not re-open the whole development cycle.
Compliance & Testing
How do you keep us ahead of the state PFAS bans?
C0 fluorochemical-free DWR across the shell range, with spray and wash-durability reports plus the written certificate of compliance that California AB 1817 and the other state laws expect to travel with the goods.
Are the sewn-in labels built to U.S. law?
Yes. Fibre content, country of origin and RN identification to the FTC Textile & Wool Acts, permanent care labels under the Care Labeling Rule, produced per PO and filed for three years.
What test reports do we get?
Waterproof hydrostatic head and water-vapor breathability to ASTM methods such as ASTM E96, arranged with partners including TÜV Rheinland, plus abrasion, colourfastness and insulation testing where the programme requires it.
What if our range includes children’s styles?
We coordinate lead, phthalate and tracking-label testing through CPSC-accepted laboratories and assemble the Children’s Product Certificate file per style.
Shipping & Cost
Which Incoterms do you quote?
FOB Ningbo or Shanghai as standard; CIF and DDP to U.S. ports and door delivery on request. We quote the same PO under multiple terms so you can compare real landed cost.
How long is transit to the U.S.?
Typically two to three weeks to Los Angeles / Long Beach and four to five weeks to the East Coast by sea, with air freight available for urgent replenishment.
Who handles duty and classification?
We classify every style to the current Harmonized Tariff Schedule, model Section 301 additional duty into the landed-cost view, and issue customs-ready commercial and packing documents for your broker.
What are your payment terms, and can we start small?
30 % deposit with balance against a copy of the bill of lading; L/C at sight accepted. A paid sample order is the usual first step, and factory visits or video walk-throughs are welcome.
